Taking a career break volunteering abroad on a number of different programmes offered by Inspire Volunteer could help those that feel they have hit a brick wall in their careers.
It is being claimed that taking time out of your career at a stage when nothing you are doing seems to get you to move on to the next level will help you up skill, boost your future earnings and job satisfaction.
Will Snell, head of Skills Venture, has written to employment website Personnel Today about the benefits of taking a sabbatical. The comments he made appeared after the top accountancy firm KPMG offered its employees the chance to take a sabbatical or cut their hours in a bid to reduce job cuts, leading 80% of employees to take this offer of a four day working week or sabbatical.
Mr Snell, head of Skills Venture, stated that employees would ‘build up professional and interpersonal skills, get a completely new perspective on life and business and gain exposure to a dynamic part of the global economy’ Mr Snell insisted on making a point that volunteers would derive from mentoring local businesses, allowing them to use the professional skills that they have built up over years.’
Here at Inspire Volunteer we have some excellent projects that would let you give your business knowledge to people that really need it and help change their lives forever. Take a look at these by clicking Here.
